Mark A. Maxwell SR

Bishop Mark A. Maxwell, Sr. is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Praise And Worship Ministries in Indianapolis, Indiana. He answered his call to ministry in 1989 while attending Ball State University, preaching his first sermon entitled “I’m Going Over This Jordan.” From that moment, he has devoted his life to preaching, teaching, and serving God’s people.

He has served faithfully in many capacities within the Church of God in Christ, including Elder and District Evangelist. In 2011, after much prayer and fasting, he stepped out on faith to establish Praise And Worship Ministries, where lives continue to be transformed through prayer, outreach, and the power of God’s Word.

In November 2020, Bishop Maxwell was appointed Overseer of Protocol for the Covenant Churches of America Indiana Diocese under Bishop Marvin Denson. In July 2023, he was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop, recognizing his faithful service and leadership. Most recently, in July 2025, he was elevated to serve as Midwest Regional Bishop.

Above all, Bishop Maxwell is a devoted husband to his wife, Mrs. L. Renae Maxwell, a loving father, and a proud grandfather—his family remains his greatest joy and inspiration.
